Sun, sea and 'I do': How To Pull Off The Perfect Beach Wedding

26th October, 2018

Many couples that are seeking a unique wedding day turn to the idea of a beach wedding, with sand and sea creating the perfect landscape for fun and romance. Beaches can provide so much inspiration when it comes to picking the decor, colour schemes and even outfits. You can stick with the blues, beiges and natural beach vibes or go all out with bright summer shades depending on the tone of your special day! With all of this in mind there is so much to consider when it comes to planning the perfect beach wedding, and that’s where we come in handy, thanks to our amazing exhibitors! There are so many important factors to consider, but the first will be where do you want to get married? And how many people are you catering for? Do you want somewhere sunny and hot or cool and breezy? These are all things you need to consider when picking out a country and a location. Places like Spain and Barbados are great locations as they are hot almost all year round, have crystal blue seas making them very picturesque and are also a great destination if you’re taking the whole family. Luckily, when it comes to the planning, we have some fantastic exhibitors at our shows who would be more than happy to help you out. Take a look at Travel Designers, Travel By Lesley, Exclusive Yacht Weddings and Baldwins Travel Group to find out more information.

Another special part of your big day will be the outfits. When it comes to dressing for the beach, typically people don’t tend to wear too much because it gets hot very quickly. You’ll also have the sand to contend with. For this reason, beach wedding brides have moved towards shorter dresses and flat shoes to keep cool and mobile. Grooms have been seen in smart shorts and a shirt, again allowing them to look great but stay cool. This can also help to create a more relaxed feeling for your big day. You also want to consider the dress code for your guests because they will need to be comfortable too! Finally, if you’re getting married abroad you’ll need to think about who you are inviting. This is important because you need to make sure that people are willing to travel, can get the time off work and also, if they need to pay, if they’d be willing to pay for their flights and accommodation. With these things in mind you might end up keeping your ceremony to strictly close family only, but it means it would be an intimate affair to remember. Remember, this is your big day and you want it to be perfect, right down to who’s coming! Overall, there are a lot of things that you need to consider when trying to plan the perfect beach wedding, including where you want it to take place, how you’re getting there, what you’re wearing and so much more!
